This piece is my ode to the noise, the chaos, the beautiful mess of city life.  Because in New York, even silence has something to say.

Colorful illustration of New York City life featuring buildings, pedestrians, and lively city energy.
New York Life in Sketches is a 3-page illustrated comic that captures the everyday quirks, charm, and chaos of New Yorkers through quick, expressive sketches and snippets of overheard conversations. Set in the city’s streets, subways, and bodegas, the comic reflects on the fast-talking, no-nonsense, big-hearted personality of New York’s people.
Using a mix of observational drawing and humor, this short comic zine documents real-life moments with strangers, those fleeting exchanges that feel uniquely New York. With a sketchbook-like style and spontaneous line work, it reads like a love letter to the city’s character, told from the perspective of an artist navigating it as a newcomer.
